How I create my art
My digital collages grow out of photographs, memories and impressions. I layer moments, times and places, bringing them together in new visual worlds. Much of the process develops intuitively, from a spontaneous impulse.
Photographs as a starting point
Many of my own photographs form the basis of my work. I capture landscapes, urban scenes, moods and fleeting moments. Travel, experiences of nature and personal reflection feed into my artistic process.
Layers, colour and blending
Within a digital image, I combine photographic fragments, shifting and transforming them. Blending, layers and subtle changes in colour create new connections. Reality, memory and interpretation flow into one another.
Room for spontaneous ideas
The digital medium gives me the freedom to work in different places and develop impressions as they arise. My compositions evolve intuitively, with light, colour and atmosphere playing a central role.
Images and perception
My work explores perception, identity and memory. It invites you to look closely and discover your own interpretation. What an image tells us also develops through the eyes of the person viewing it.
You can read more about my artistic approach in my Artist statement. You can explore the resulting works in my Portfolio gallery.
